A program by UP police to observe women safety week every year in December was Inaugurated by IG Meerut, Ram Kumar at SSP office Surajpur,Greater Noida. program is started with by giving Guard of honour to IG. During this program a seminar was also organised on JJ act and on POCSO act. SSP Love Kumar and SP rural Suniti were also present at the event.One of the speaker at the seminar shared his views and told “The thrust is on educating women about safety laws and encouraging them to report crime. In most of the case its seen that women’s don’t have the courage to share the happen to her with family and society. There should be gender sensitisation and have to program their mind in a way that what is happening to the is wrong and it should be stopped”.
He Further said, “Under this initiative district police teams will visit schools, colleges and other public places and inform women about various measures taken by the government for their protection”.
“All police officials, from SP to SHO, will visit two schools each during the week and participate in the drive. Special sessions will be held where police officials will inform women about the department’s initiatives, like women power line, power angels, UP 100 and twitter seva, aimed at women safety,” said IG.”
“A team of five policemen, including women staff, will visit schools and colleges during the week-long drive and interact with women students. Apart from various provisions, the officials will also inform the students about laws aimed at women security and encourage them to report crime,” an official Said.
