Greater Noida 28/8/19 : Work for inter-connecting Eastern Peripheral Expressway with Yamuna Expressway through a cloverleaf will start after September 15. The much-awaited project got the final nod on Monday from Yamuna Authority top official and handed the project to Dev Yash Project and Infrastructure private limited.

Both the expressways overlap each other, which is one of its kind in India but did not have connectivity with each other. For now, the commuters need to travel extra 11 kms to Sirsa to interchange at Bir Akbarpur from Yamuna Expressway to access the EPE.

The inter-connection is intended to increase the ease of travelling from Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna city to Kundli, Ghaziabad and Palwal. It is also expected to improve the commuting from Meerut, Moradabad and Faridabad, as well as Palwal-Manesar to the Jewar airport.

Arun Veer Singh, CEO, Yamuna authority told, “The whole project will cost 75.50 crores and is expected to complete within 18 months. The interchange will have four loops and eight ramps which will be constructed in 79.64 hectares of land that is already owned by the Yamuna Authority.

“While the loops will provide access to the Yamuna e-way and EPE, the ramps will provide access to the Yamuna city. It will come up at 91.87km from point zero on EPE and will join Yamuna Expressway at 9.5km from the zero point of Yamuna Expressway.”

The need for this interchange is felt because flow of traffic in the whole NCR region will increase extensively after Noida International Airport become functional.
