GREATER NOIDA News (16/01/2026): In a significant step towards strengthening Indo-Japanese industrial cooperation, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) held a high-level strategic meeting with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to discuss expanding Japanese investments in the Yamuna Expressway region. The meeting was chaired by YEIDA Chief Executive Officer R.K. Singh and JETRO India’s Chief Director General, Suzuki Takashi.

The discussions centered on positioning the Yamuna Expressway belt as a preferred manufacturing and investment destination for Japanese companies, including large industrial groups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Officials highlighted the region’s growing importance as an industrial hub supported by robust infrastructure and forward-looking government policies.

During the meeting, R.K. Singh outlined the region’s strong multi-modal connectivity, underscoring the strategic advantage of the upcoming Noida International Airport, which is expected to become one of Asia’s largest aviation hubs. He also highlighted the area’s close linkage with the Dedicated Freight Corridor under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), offering seamless logistics and supply chain connectivity.

The YEIDA CEO further emphasized the availability of world-class infrastructure, competitive land pricing, and the Uttar Pradesh government’s investor-friendly initiatives. He assured the JETRO delegation of a smooth and transparent investment process through the state’s Single Window Clearance system, aimed at expediting approvals and reducing procedural delays for foreign investors.

In addition to the proposed Japanese Industrial Park, YEIDA presented a wide range of sector-specific investment opportunities in upcoming projects such as the Medical Devices Park, Film City, Textile and Apparel Park, and Electronics Manufacturing Park, positioning the region as a diversified industrial ecosystem.

A key outcome of the meeting was the proposal to develop an exclusive Japanese MSME Park within the YEIDA area. The proposal was based on the growing interest of Japanese small and medium enterprises, with nearly 1,400 MSMEs currently registered with JETRO and actively exploring manufacturing opportunities in India.

Responding positively, Suzuki Takashi and the JETRO delegation described the Yamuna Expressway region as an ideal location for the next phase of Japanese industrial expansion, citing its superior connectivity and infrastructure. They noted that several Japanese companies already operating in India are keen to scale up operations and are evaluating suitable locations for future growth.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to deepen engagement, including a formal invitation for JETRO officials to visit YEIDA’s industrial sites and the Noida International Airport. Both sides also proposed signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to institutionalize cooperation and strengthen long-term collaboration between the Uttar Pradesh government and Japanese investors.

The discussions were attended by senior officials including Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, IAS, Additional CEO of YEIDA, Praveen Kumar Mittal, Executive Director of the Export Promotion Council, along with representatives from EY and other senior officials.
