YEIDA Unveils Mega Plan for Two Smart Cities Near Noida International Airport, Aiming to Create Global Growth Hub

Greater Noida News (03/07/2026): The area surrounding the Noida International Airport in Jewar is set for another major phase of urban transformation, with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) proposing the development of two large-scale smart townships designed to position the region as a global investment and economic destination.

Tentatively named “Japan City” and “Singapore City,” the proposed townships are part of YEIDA’s long-term master plan to create integrated industrial and urban ecosystems around the upcoming international airport. The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen the region’s appeal for domestic and international investors while accelerating industrial expansion, employment generation, and planned urban development.

According to the proposed blueprint, the two smart townships will be spread across nearly 1,000 acres, with approximately 500 acres allocated to each development. The projects are envisioned as self-sustained urban centers featuring a balanced mix of industrial zones, residential neighborhoods, commercial complexes, institutional spaces, and modern civic infrastructure.

A substantial portion of the land will be reserved for industrial activities to attract manufacturing units, logistics companies, technology firms, and export-oriented industries. The remaining area will accommodate housing, business districts, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, recreational spaces, and other essential urban amenities, creating a comprehensive live-work ecosystem.

Officials believe the development will complement the rapid growth expected around the Noida International Airport, which is poised to become one of India’s largest aviation hubs. The strategic location of these townships is expected to improve connectivity, attract global businesses, and support the development of a robust industrial corridor along the Yamuna Expressway.

YEIDA officials have indicated that the process of identifying land for both projects has been completed, while preparations for land acquisition are progressing. Once the proposals receive the necessary approvals, development work is expected to begin in phases.

The authority expects the projects to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, encourage fresh domestic and foreign investment, and stimulate economic activity across the Jewar region. The integrated planning approach is also aimed at ensuring sustainable urban growth supported by modern infrastructure and efficient public services.

With the Noida International Airport nearing operational readiness, these proposed smart cities are expected to play a pivotal role in reshaping the airport region into one of North India’s most significant industrial, commercial, and residential destinations, further strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position as an emerging economic powerhouse.
