New Delhi: Demanding action against BJP president Amit Shah in his alleged involvement in Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank (ADCB)’s Rs 745 crore scam held within five days of demonetisation, Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress (DPYC) members hold protest near Amit Shah official bungalow.

Hundreds of Youth Congress workers gathered at Raisaina Road office and marched towards Ashoka Road carrying banners, pamphlets to picket Amit Shah’s bungalow. They were chanting slogans against ruling NDA government, Amit Shah and PM Modi in a roaring voice.

As the protestors reached near Shahtri Bhawan, a few miles before Amit Shah’s house cops stopped them. Seeing huge number of protestors, a large number of police personnel were present there by barricading the road.

However, numerous protestors jumped the barricade and detained by the police. “40-50 youth Congress workers were detained from the spot,” a sub-inspector said.

The Congress recently sought “an independent probe” into RTI revelations that Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank (ADCB) linked to BJP President Amit Shah got deposists of Rs 745.59 crore in five days after demonetisation, while terming the currency-scrapping move the biggest scam in Independent India to convert black money into white.

The party also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP chief must come clean on the alleged scam and said the BJP and the RSS should publicly disclose the properties and their value purchased in the run up to and post-demonetisation, including source of funds.
