New Delhi : Indian Youth Congress under leadership of IYC National President Shri Amarinder Singh Raja today celebrated the “Victory of Democracy” in “Uttarakhand” at PMO. Youth Congress Activists burnt crackers, distributed sweets and fruits to celebrate the Victory. Scores of Youth Congress Activists marched from IYC Office (5, Raisina Road) towards PMO but were stopped by Police Barricading. “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high, Into that heaven of freedom my father let my country awake!”. Inspite of all odds and hurdles set up by BJP government, we have emerged as responsible citizens of India. Uttarakhand’s victory has emerged as a victory, not just of Congress but as a victory of every individual who opposes discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, community and ethnicity. It is a victory of democracy and freedom in its real sense. Where on one hand NDA tried its level best to turn nation into an extremist Republican regime, on the other hand Uttarakhand’s victory has set an example for the world – that truth prevails no matter how much you try to subdue it!!.
IYC President Shri Amarinder Singh Raja said that we have came here to give a message to the Prime Minister that as India is known as the largest Democracy in the whole world and we have got this democracy and freedom through a huge fight and struggle, so Prime Minister Mr. Modi should Respect and maintain Santity that as now he is not the PM of BJP or any other political party and he should not interfere in the Democratic set-up of the Elected Governments in states, and for BJP and Amit Shah it’s a clear message that Democracy is Supreme and they should respect that.
