New Delhi (India), 12th April 2023: Amidst what appeared to be a global outage, there have been reports of difficulties accessing the video streaming service for YouTube subscribers all over the world.
Downdetector, a service that analyses all significant outages worldwide, brought attention to the problem. Users have complained about the outage on Twitter. On Downdetector, there are over a thousand reports.
Around 5:30 AM IST, April 11 reports of the problem with the Google-owned company began to increase. However its still unclear what caused the outage in the first place.
Approximately 65% of users who complained about issues on Downdetector mentioned issues with streaming videos as the primary cause.Additionally, 10% of users had trouble accessing the YouTube website, while 25% of users had trouble using the YouTube app.
Some YouTube viewers complained about the platform not loading for them on Twitter, while some others also posted jokes about the situation.
The cause of the outage is yet unknown, and YouTube has not yet released a statement regarding it. However, in response to a user’s tweet of the issue, the TeamYoutube account tweeted, “tysm for letting us know! We are investigating this rn.”
