New Delhi, 21st July 2023: For the first time since the subscription service’s inception in 2018, YouTube, Google’s video streaming network, raised pricing on its monthly and annual premium plans in the United States.
According to the company’s website on Thursday, the YouTube Premium plan would cost $13.99 a month in the United States, a $2 increase from before. The annual plan’s pricing has been raised by $20 to $139.99.
According to YouTube, members who subscribed five years ago, including those who signed up through Google Play, will receive three further months of service at the old pricing.
YouTube released new capabilities for its premium customers in April, including the ability to create Google Meet sessions to watch videos on the platform with other users.
It has also increased the price of YouTube Music in the United States by $1 to $10.99. Similarly, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Tidal have all raised their prices recently.
