California(USA), 13/08/23: The place and date for the extremely hyped cage fight between Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and social media platform X CEO Elon Musk have yet to be determined, according to Zuckerberg on Friday.

However earlier on Friday, Musk said that the duel between the two tech CEOs will take place in Rome, Italy.

He also stated in a post that he had spoken with the Prime Minister of Italy and the Minister of Culture, and that they had agreed on an incredible location.

In response to the revelation, Zuckerberg stated that the exact date for the showdown has not yet been determined.

Mark took to his X-like app Threads and posted, “I love this sport and I’ve been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me. If he ever agrees on an actual date, you’ll hear it from me. Until then, please assume anything he says has not been agreed on.”

Further mocking the Tesla CEO, Zuckerberg stated, “Not holding my breath for Elon, but I’ll share details on my next fight when I’m ready. When I compete, I want to do it in a way that puts a spotlight on the elite athletes at the top of the game. You do that by working with professional orgs like the UFC or ONE to pull this off well and create a great card.”

Musk announced earlier in the day that the UFC would not be overseeing the match.

Musk also stated that he spoke with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano about the battle and its location.

Musk wrote in a tweet, “The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.”

All of this began when Zuckerberg developed Threads in order to compete with Musk’s Twitter. Musk claimed that Zuckerberg plagiarised many of its X features.

Musk stated in June that he is ready for a ‘cage fight’ if Mark Zuckerberg is. In response, Zuckerberg said, “Send me location.”

Musk and Zuckerberg have both been prepared for the fight. In an Instagram post a few weeks ago, Zuckerberg was seen posing at a training session with two world-class UFC fighters, Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski.

Photos of Musk training with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belt Lex Fridman, on the other hand, appeared a few weeks ago.

Last week, the Tesla CEO claimed on the social networking platform that he was “lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight,” adding that he didn’t have time to work out so brought the weights to work.

In response, Zuckerberg stated that he is “not holding his breath” about the proposed cage battle with Musk, revealing that he had chosen a date of August 26 for the event.

Both billionaires are dead serious about the battle, according to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White.
