After food poisoning in a school, District Administration begins quality check in all centers of education

The district administration has taken stern steps after some children got sick after consuming ready-to-eat foods by in a renowned school of Noida. The District Magistrate BN Singh has now directed the District Food Safety and Drugs Department to check food quality by taking sample from all the school and college canteens in the district.

Strict action will be taken against the Canteen Operators and educational institutions playing with the health of the students. He said that there is also a provision for penalty of around one Lakh rupees or imprisonment for three months for bad quality of food supplies under the Act 2006

District Magistrate BN Singh said that after eating Parantha’s in step-by-step school, the health of the students had worsened. This case is now being investigated. Samples have been collected and sent to the laboratory for examination. The reports are expected soon and action will be taken accordingly.

In addition, guidelines have been issued to all educational institutions to maintain the quality of food and drink in the canteen. He also said that strict action against those institutions which are found to be serving below standard food will be taken. He has also instructed the Food and Drug Department to regularly check the quality of drinking water, canteens and food in all educational institutes.
