Gang of robbers nabbed in Greater Noida, construction material worth 20 Lakh recovered

Yesterday Greater Noida police had nabbed three criminals from a road heading to sector 3 near Khairpur round about after exchange of fire with criminals. Police had recovered 35 bundles of iron rod that are used during construction and two country made pistol from them.

The accused were identified as Ravi resident of Dankur, Rashid Ali a resident of district Hapur and Mahkai Nagar a resident of Dankur

SP Rural Aashish Shrivastava said “All the accused would operate in a group with their gang members. The accused use to target trucks carrying iron rods and after overpowering their drivers by using weapons, they would loot it. They only took out some of the material from the truck and would store it in their warehouse.  Afterwards they would prepare fake bills of the materials and would supply it to the builders and local traders in the market”.

Further he said that “The accused had a criminal history in past also and had  admitted of their involvement in  lvarious robberies and in similar incidents. During interrogation we came to know that they had looted a truck carrying 18 ton of iron rod which is now under the custody of sale tax department.”

Rest of their accomplice are still absconding and police is trying to nab them. The accused are also said to be politically well connected and one of the accused Ravi is the owner of three Weighbridges and Warehouse.
