Only 1 truck out of 15,000 gets challaned

Every day, about 75,000 trucks enter Delhi—sources put the number at 1 lakh—and of these, only about five are challaned for traffic violations. That is the reality of the police’s campaign against dangerously driven trucks. As April draws to a close, less than 800 trucks have been challaned this year—200 of them in a single day during a special drive.
