New Delhi (India), 11th May 2023: Responding to the 3rd blast in a week near the Golden Temple premises, the Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested five people and claimed to have solved the case.
State’s Director-General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, took to Twitter to announce that the case is now solved after the arrest of 5 people involved in the incidents.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President also blamed the government’s negligence and said that it was actually the security squad of the Gurudwara who caught the 3 people involved in the latest explosion.
The 5 people of interest also include a newlywed couple who threw the explosives from the bathroom of the sarai where they were staying towards the Galliara. Authorities further confirmed that none of the five people has any known terror links and that the motive behind the blasts was to disturb the peace around the holy site.
The authorities, however, are also amping up the security measures at the Temple, with the devotees having to go through a scanner at the entrance and requesting the devotees to carry only necessary things while visiting the shrine complex.
