Metro Hospital Faridabad installs latest 3D Cath lab

It is medical revolution in the Faridabad with the first of its kind 3D Cath Lab being inaugurated at the Metro Hospital. Member of Parliament from Faridabad Union Minister of State for Welfare and Social empowerment Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar presided over the inauguration of the medical marvel. Dr. S. S.Bansal, Director of the hospital displayed the multiple utilities of the machine to the present, by way of a demonstration of the “3D Innova 2100IQ (Optima Edition) IGS 320 Cath Lab”.

Dr. Bansal, himself a world renowned cardiologist, said that the new facility would be helpful in treatment of brain tumors, brain hemorrhage and other such ailments without any surgery. He said that Angiography of heart and brain would also be made simpler by using this 3D Cath lab providing facility of 3-Dimensional scan. This would enable the doctors to find out the exact point of ailment or clot of blood in brain or in heart. The doctors would then be able to dilute the clot there itself without any surgery, just by inserting the right guide wire and placing the right stent wherever applicable.

Dr. Bansal said that the new 3D Cath lab will also provide the exceptional facility of Rotational Angiography. This is the first one of its kind machine with so many advanced features in the state, providing rotational scan with a range of 180 degree. Bansal informed that this high tech Cath Lab with advanced technology has unique features like Flourostore, Stentviz, very high quality DSA facilities apart from Rotational Angiography. The Flourostore facility inherited in the system allows saving images without Cine. Cardiologists need not take repeated shots and thus amount of dye and radiation are greatly reduced. Apart from this, high quality DSA (Digital Subtraction Angio) is a special feature by which even tiny bleeders can be picked up and sealed to prevent bleeding in lung, stomach, brain etc.

Because of all these special technologies present in a single machine, this Cath Lab will be financially reasonable for our patients because instead of getting several tests done for diagnosis, the patient can undergo this single diagnosis and thus save a lot of expenditure.

Dr. Bansal also said that the Stentviz feature is helpful in showing exactly proper deployment and expansion of stent which decreases the chances of stent blockage in future. In addition to this, Roadmap application is a unique feature of this machine which helps to see the advancement of guide wire and devices through the vessel without repeating contrast injection again and again. It is also very helpful in treating brain hemorrhage, added Dr. Bansal.

Speaking on the occasion Member of Parliament Krishan Pal Gurjar said that private hospitals are providing the latest technology available in the world of medical science to patients for better healthcare services. He expressed hope that in future too; this institute will continue to achieve greater milestones in the field of medical science. Gurjar said that there are 15000 children that are born deaf and dumb. The Government allows a member of parliament to allow treatment of 40 patients for which the government allows Rs. Six lacs per patient. However, there are none of the hospitals in the panel of the government to treatment of these patients in Faridabad. He advised Dr. Bansal to apply for empanelment with the government under the scheme so that the patients from Faridabad, 15 at present in the city itself instead of going to Delhi.

Dr. Purushottam Lal, recipient of Padmshree, being the Chairman of Metro Hospital, was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the continuous effort of Dr. Bansal in catching up the international standards of treatment all through these years.
