Faridabad:  The members of ‘Save Faridabad’ joined hands on Sunday 3rd January 2016 to protest against the wrong policy of Faridabad Administration of replacing the parks by giving preference to parking place for vehicles.  The message given by several hundreds of members was very loud and clear that said ‘we don’t want parking space for vehicles at the cost of parks’. The members of ‘Save Faridabad’ gathered in Faridabad on Sunday to protest against the policy and staged a protest at Sector-16 Faridabad. Saurabh Bhardwaj, a well known journalist of Faridabad and the person behind the movement said that on the one hand the whole world is creating panic on the increasing levels of pollution; on the other the local administrations are replacing the green belts and parks with the concrete structures. The ‘Save Faridabad’ people are protesting against the double standards of the administration.  Bhardwaj said that there are two cases evident in the recent days where the park has been replaced by the parking space for vehicles. While the first one is near the posh market at Sector-15 where the park area opposite the Gurudwara has been occupied with the parked vehicles and the board near the place indicates it as ‘HUDA Parking’, the other one is in Sector-19 where a park has been eaten by the space for parking.  Locals say that they have made several representations to the local administration but their requests have not landed on the deaf ears. Saurabh said that their organisation is in the process of identifying more such areas where the space earmarked for park has been used to park the vehicles.

Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the local administration has also released thousands of acres of forest land of Aravali for illegal concrete structures without thinking about the impact on the environment and the reduction in the green cover over the city. He said that the pounds are being leveled to provide space for more concrete jungles.

A signature campaign was also undertaken with the protest in which all the members marked their protest.  A memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister of Haryana was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner Faridabad. Since the Deputy Commissioner was not available the memorandum was handed over to the City Magistrate Gaurav Antil.

The present included Deewan Singh Shah, Rakesh Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Dr. Subhash Shyoran, Pawan Kumar Nagpal, Navneet Gumber, Ravindra Manchanda, Vikrant Singla, Rakesh Gosain, Harish Rathi, Alka Khanna, Akanksha Saluja, Chatar Singh Dalal, Punit Bhardwaj and many more.
