- New Delhi: Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, the son of former UP chief minister N D Tiwari, was allegedly murdered by his wife, Apoorva Tiwari. The crime branch of Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested the wife, Apoorva Tiwari, on charges of murder.
According to police, there could be two motives behind the murder – the first is the property angle and the other is Rohit’s proximity to another woman.
The police said that Apoorva has confessed to the crime.Apoorva and Rohit tied the knot in 2017 after they reportedly met on a matrimonial site, following which the couple shared a live-in relationship for a year before they got married.
According to sources, the couple did not share a cordial relationship and the marriage was not smooth, an angle which is being probed by the police.
The police also claimed that during the time of questioning, Apoorva had changed her statements several times, and later confessed to the crime.
Briefing Media, Rajiv Ranjan,Delhi Additional CP (Crime) on ND Tiwari’s son Rohit Shekhar Tiwari’s death case said,
“Investigation has proved it beyond doubt that it is her (Apoorva, Rohit’s wife) work & she has confessed to it. Till now no evidence has been found regarding someone else’s involvement.”
