New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Sheila Dikshit announced today that the Delhi Congress will organise demonstrations in all the 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi on 18th June, 2019 to protest against the severe power cuts and water shortage in Delhi, as the Aam Aadmi Party Government has failed to address these problems.

The three DPCC Working Presidents, Haroon Yusuf, Rajesh Lilothia and
Devender Yadav, will lead the protest demonstrations in all the 70 Assembly constituencies. Lakhs of Congress workers and the general public will also join the Congress protests across the
Capital on 18th June, 2019 as the complaints to the Aam Aadmi Party Government in this regard have fallen on deaf ears, as the Kejriwal Government has not taken any steps to
address the power and water shortage.

Haroon Yusuf said that according to the direction of DPCC president Sheila Dikshit, all the Residents’ Welfare Associations of Delhi, who were part of the Bhagidari Scheme during the Congress regime in Delhi, and those RWAs which were not part of Bhagidari, will also be invited to join in the Congress demonstrations in all the 70 Assembly constituencies
in Delhi.

He said that people are harassed and fed up with the power and water shortage in
these peak summer days.

Earlier delegation of the DPCC, led by Sheila Dikshit, had met Delhi
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, 12th June, and drew his attention to the power and water shortage in Delhi, seeking urgent remedial measures as people were being
put to tremendous suffering.

Sheila Dikshit had also asked Kejriwal to roll back the fixed charges and pension fund charged in the power bills as the power distribution companies have illegally collected crores of rupees on this head. The Congress delegation
had asked Kejriwal to either return the money to the power consumers or adjust against their electricity bills in the next 6 months.
