Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at a makeshift ‘mini- Maharashtra’ at Gr Noida’s City Park

Greater Noida: The 10 day-long festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated with much joy and fervor in different parts of India. In Greater Noida also celebrations at City Park started with installation I of Lord Ganesh idols in a huge pandal set up for the occasion.
On the first day of the occasion, Dhirander Singh, MLA, Jewar, reached the venue and seek the blessings of Bappa. During the celebrations, the renowned personality of Greater Noida like Aditya Ghildyal President of Greater Noida Industries and social activist, Harinder Bhati was also present.
Greater Noida resident, Chandrashekhar V.Garge started celebrating the festival with the installation of Ganesha idol during Chaturthi at his home, some 19 years back. He would then invite friends and neighbours to become part of the festivity. Gradually, the worshippers increased and the celebrations moved to a nearby park, then to a bigger ground in Beta-1 and finally to its present place of organization.
The festival is marked with 10 days of cultural extravaganza. Devotees throng in hundreds and thousands to witness an impeccable blend of Maharashtrian culture with North Indian touch.
The festival has also provided an opportunity for the local crowd to get a taste of Maharashtrian culture. Many dance and music enthusiasts from the city also learn and present Maharashtrian song and dance for the event.
This year the celebrations started on the 2nd of September and will go on till 11th September. So don’t miss the chance and come take the blessings of Vighnaharta at this makeshift ‘mini-Maharashtra’ of Greater Noida.
