Soon, call 1511 to report crime in Delhi Metro

Delhi Police will soon have a dedicated four-digit helpline number to check incidents of pickpocketing, misbehaviour and molestation in Metro. This move comes after plainclothes cops were deployed to meet passengers and hear their problems.

Metro also installed a public assistance booth at Chandni Chowk station on Wednesday.

“A four digit number—1511—was sanctioned as the new helpline. The number, to start within a week, will be operational 24X7 and the control room will be located at Shashtri Park Metro station,” said Mukesh Kumar Meena, joint commissioner, New Delhi range.
