Greater Noida, 3rd April: Amid the Coronavirus scare and lockdown in the country, most of the industries were forced to shut down their physical operations including the education industry.

Delhi Government was the first one to shut down schools somewhere in mid march which was then followed by other state governments shutting down all the educational institutions.

The closing of educational institutions has somewhat halted the academic session, but there are some institutions who responded immediately and leveraged the online mode to teach and assess the learning outcomes seamlessly.

Greater Noida based Galgotias University is one such educational institution which is effectively catering to its 15,000+ students via several online platforms like ZOOM, LMS (MOODLE), Google Classrooms, Google Hangout, Skype, Virtual Labs etc.

The University started the E-classes from 18th March, immediately after the UP government had issued an order to shut down educational institutions.

Between 18th to 27th March, the university conducted a total of 10,019 lectures across 18 different Schools of the University, in which 90.01% of their students attended the lectures and participated in the assessment.

“Online teaching has helped students to learn in a different environment and has motivated the students for Self-Learning, which is a very important skill, required for Lifelong Learning. With ICT tools, the confidence of
students in using the latest technology trends and platforms, has improved, which will help them to excel in the future,” the report further said.
