Akshay Kumar Set to Renounce his Canadian Citizenship

Mumbai (Maharashtra), 24th February 2023: The Canadian Citizenship of the Bollywood superstar has been a topic of criticism and controversy for years. Akshay Kumar on a new episode of Seedhi Baat has said that he will renounce his citizenship.

The actor during an interview on Aaj Tak said that he will let go of his citizenship soon. Further, he expressed his gratitude toward India and said that everything he has achieved, and the levels of success he has reached are all because of India and he owes it all to the country.

Akshay’s real name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia and reached the pinnacle of success during the later 90s and 2000s. Some of his most celebrated works are Hera Pheri, Khiladi, Singh is King, Housefull and Bhool Bhulaiya. His Canadian citizenship has always been an issue that has attracted criticism towards Akshay.

But to out that all behind him he said that he will renounce his citizenship and also said, “India means everything to me.” Akshay explained that he had applied for citizenship in the early 90s when he delivered 15 flop movies. Anticipating that his career is over he contacted a friend who called him to Canada to work.

However, he was extremely fortunate and his next to films which were set to release turned out to be superior movies and performed extremely well on the box office. He has not looked back ever since.

Akshay is set to return to the big screen this week and is busy promoting the upcoming movie ‘Selfie’. His co-star in the movie is Imran Hashmi, fans are eagerly awaiting the release if the film.
