New Delhi, 17th May 2023: The authorities at the Indian Meteorological Department predicted chances for light to moderate rainfall in the Delhi region.
Thunderstorms, dust storms, and gusty winds speeding upto 30-50km/h are likely over and adjoining areas of Delhi. The weather department of India took to Twitter and issued a caution to the residents along the North Delhi, North-East Delhi, North-West Delhi, Central-Delhi, East Delhi and NCR regions.
Rains are also expected across the Adampur, Hissar, Hansi and Meham regions in the next 2 hours.
This comes as the national capital region witnessed strong heavy winds yesterday that ultimately affected the air quality, dragged down the visibility to 1,000 metres, and hiked up dust.
The Air Quality Index measured today was at 271, while the Dhirpur region recorded an AQI of 323, placing itself in the very poor category, while Gurugram and Lodhi Road touched the poor category with an AQI or 280 and 225, respectively.
