Top Maoist leaders from Jharkhand arrested running Dhaba at Nepal-India border

Ranchi, 23/05/2023: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials arrested a self-styled leader of a wanted Maoist outfit in Nepal.
Dinesh Gope, who is allegedly involved in over 100 criminal cases across 3 states in India, was reported to be in hiding in the neighbouring country.
He escaped to Nepal following an encounter between the People’s Liberation Front in India (PLFI) and the security forces in Jharkhand. He is said to have set up a Dhaba in the Biratnagar region, near the International border and controlled his outfit from there.
He would burn his mobile phones and sim cards after calling his outfit’s “area commanders” in Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand. However, a phone call from Gope’s number earlier this year assisted security forces in locating him in Nepal.
