PM Modi Takes Veiled Dig at Rahul Gandhi, Calls Congress’ Efforts a Series of Failed Launches

New Delhi, August 11, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a subtle reference to Rahul Gandhi, criticized the Congress party’s repeated attempts to introduce a “failed product” to the political arena.

During his response to the no-confidence motion debate in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi asserted that the Congress’ endeavors to bring forth a successful initiative have consistently fallen short.

PM Modi’s remarks came as he addressed the concept of “dil se baat” (speaking from the heart) proposed by the Opposition. He highlighted the Congress party’s fixation with associating everything with him and mentioned their repeated attempts to launch a “failed product.” “Their ‘Modi prem’ is such that they see Modi even in their dreams. I can understand Congress’ problem; they have been launching a failed product repeatedly. The launch fails every time,” the Prime Minister commented.

Additionally, PM Modi countered Rahul Gandhi’s “mohabbat ki dukaan” (shop of love) slogan by describing it as a “shop of loot and market of lies.” This exchange of slogans has become a defining feature of the ongoing political discourse between the two parties.

During his comprehensive address that spanned over two hours, PM Modi also directed his criticism towards the INDIA alliance, characterizing it as an “arrogant” coalition where multiple members aspire to hold the prime ministerial position. He pledged to restore peace in Manipur and underlined the joint efforts of both central and state governments to bring the culprits to justice. “I want to reassure the people of Manipur that the entire country stands with them,” PM Modi affirmed.

Rahul Gandhi’s earlier proclamation during his Bharat Jodo Yatra, in which he spoke about his intention to establish a “shop of love” amidst a “market of hate,” was also referred to in the context of the ongoing discourse. PM Modi’s response encapsulated his stance on the evolving political landscape and his counterpoints to the Opposition’s assertions.
