GREATER NOIDA News (12/01/2025): The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, has made a powerful statement in the field of healthcare innovation through its Medical Incubation Centre (CMI), GIMS Foundation, at a prestigious healthcare innovation exhibition held in Lucknow. The institute firmly positioned itself as Uttar Pradesh’s most impactful public medical institution–driven innovation ecosystem.
In a significant recognition of its pioneering work, GIMS was allotted three exhibition stalls at the event—the highest number granted to any single institution. This rare distinction highlighted the scale, quality, and credibility of innovation being nurtured at GIMS, setting a new benchmark for government medical institutions in the state.
The GIMS pavilion was led by Brigadier (Dr.) Rakesh Gupta, Director, GIMS, along with Dr. Rahul Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Medical Incubation Centre (CMI), GIMS Foundation. Across the three stalls, eight promising healthcare startups incubated at GIMS showcased their solutions, spanning medical devices, artificial intelligence–based diagnostics, and digital health technologies. All showcased innovations were developed to address real-world clinical challenges emerging from the government hospital ecosystem.
One of the major highlights of the exhibition was the live demonstration of Matri AI, where the startup unveiled its upgraded version. The presentation attracted considerable attention from senior government officials, healthcare administrators, clinicians, policymakers, and industry representatives.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, visited the GIMS Medical Incubation Centre stalls, interacted with innovators, and expressed his appreciation for the impactful work being carried out at the institute. He acknowledged the Centre’s contribution toward developing indigenous, affordable, and scalable healthcare solutions, aligned with the vision of innovation-led growth and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The GIMS stalls also drew a large number of Deans and Principals from medical colleges across Uttar Pradesh. Visitors lauded the hospital-based incubation model developed by GIMS and several institutions expressed keen interest in setting up similar medical incubation centres at their campuses. Many also conveyed their willingness to collaborate with GIMS to replicate and scale this successful model across the state.
Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, Chief Medical Superintendent, GIMS, actively participated in the exhibition and engaged with innovators and stakeholders, underscoring the institute’s strong administrative and clinical backing for fostering innovation within the public healthcare system.
Addressing the gathering, Brig. (Dr.) Rakesh Gupta emphasized that the integration of innovation with clinical practice is crucial for transforming public healthcare delivery in India. Dr. Rahul Singh stated that the Medical Incubation Centre at GIMS is rapidly emerging as a nationally visible model where clinicians, technologists, and startups collaborate within a real government hospital setting to co-create impactful solutions.
The enthusiastic response at the Lucknow exhibition reaffirmed the growing stature of the GIMS Medical Incubation Centre as a catalyst for MedTech and AI-driven healthcare innovation in Uttar Pradesh, while setting new standards for public medical institutions across the country.
