GREATER NOIDA News (30/01/2/2026): In a landmark step toward strengthening India’s medical innovation ecosystem, the Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI) at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, is set to host a MedTech Investor Get-Together and Startup OPD on Thursday. The initiative marks the first time a government hospital–based medical incubation centre is bringing doctors, startups, and investors together on a single platform.
The programme is being organized in collaboration with Easy Knowledge Club, the event partner, which has played a key role in enabling investor participation and facilitating meaningful engagement between clinicians and clinically validated MedTech startups.
30 Startups Shortlisted from Nationwide Applications
MedTech and healthcare startups from across the country applied to participate in the GIMS Startup OPD. Following a rigorous and structured evaluation process, 30 high-potential startups have been shortlisted. These startups will present their innovations directly to doctors and clinical experts, providing them with a rare opportunity to receive real-time feedback from practitioners working in active hospital settings.
Focus on Doctor-Led Clinical Validation
The morning session of the event will be dedicated to clinician-driven validation, a core feature of the initiative. Senior doctors from leading institutions such as AIIMS, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi University, Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, Max Hospital, and Yatharth Hospital will interact closely with startup founders.
Through these interactions, startups will gain deeper insights into disease burden, unmet clinical needs, hospital workflows, patient safety considerations, treatment outcomes, and challenges related to adoption in real-world healthcare environments.
Adding a strong engineering and design perspective, Dr. Kanakraj, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Head of Biomedical Devices at IIT Guwahati, will also be part of the session. He will guide startups on medical device design, engineering feasibility, and the pathway from innovation to clinical translation.

Investor Engagement and Funding Opportunities
Following the clinical validation discussions, investors associated with Easy Knowledge Club will engage with the shortlisted startups for focused interactions on funding, partnerships, and long-term collaboration. The aim is to ensure that investment flows into solutions that are clinically relevant, patient-centric, and ready for deployment in real hospital settings.
Leadership Perspective
Speaking on the occasion, Brig. Rakesh Gupta, Director, GIMS, said that the initiative reflects a decisive move toward strengthening indigenous medical device development. He emphasized that a hospital-based incubation model allows innovations to be conceived, tested, and refined in real clinical environments, making them more relevant to India’s healthcare needs.
Dr. Rahul, CEO – Medical Incubation, CMI GIMS, highlighted that the programme embodies the “India Design” approach to innovation. He noted that solutions developed through continuous engagement with doctors and patients are more ethical, affordable, and impactful, and partnerships with platforms like Easy Knowledge Club help connect such innovations with the right investors.
Setting a New Benchmark
The MedTech Investor Get-Together and Startup OPD at GIMS is being seen as a new benchmark in hospital-based medical incubation in India. By bringing together clinicians who define real needs, engineers who design solutions, startups that innovate, and investors who provide capital, the initiative aims to accelerate the development of healthcare technologies that truly matter.
