Greater Noida, January 29, 2026: The GL Bajaj Institute of Law successfully organized a high-level National Colloquium titled “Legal Education in Transition: Strengthening Law Colleges Through Best Practices, Addressing Contemporary Challenges, and Unlocking Future Opportunities”. The event served as a significant academia-industry interface, bringing together eminent legal luminaries, seasoned academicians, and aspiring law students to deliberate on the evolving landscape of legal pedagogy.

The proceedings commenced under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Namita Singh Malik, Director of GL Bajaj Institute of Law, whose guidance was instrumental in facilitating this intellectual exchange. The colloquium was profoundly privileged to host a galaxy of distinguished speakers whose collective insights left an indelible mark on the audience.

Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Raina (Former Vice Chancellor, HPNLU) emphasized the dynamic nature of the legal field, advocating for the inclusion of specialized additional courses such as Cyber Security and Forensic Law within the standard curriculum to meet modern demands. Following this theme of modernization, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afzal Wani highlighted the necessity of a holistic approach to legal studies, specifically calling for a careful amalgamation of Artificial Intelligence with professional ethics. The discourse also touched upon the philosophical and practical training of future lawyers. R.B. Sharma (Legal Advisor, LPAI) noted that beyond formal education (Shiksha), the spiritual and ethical initiation (Diksha) of a student is essential for true professional development. Complementing this, Pramod Kumar Goel (Former District & Sessions Judge) urged students to begin conducting themselves as “Officers of the Court” during their time in law school, noting that courtroom exposure is vital for becoming effective advocates. Social equity remained a core focus of the deliberations. Prof. (Dr.) Nuzhat Parveen Khan delivered a poignant address on inclusivity, advocating for the integration of specially-abled and transgender students into the mainstream and ensuring that marginalized voices are never ignored.

The technical sessions provided deep dives into specialized domains. Dr. G.R. Raghavender provided a comprehensive overview of the scope of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in contemporary academics. Adv. Rodney D. Ryder discussed innovation and professional practice in the age of AI, while Adv. Juhi Arora spoke on the increasing necessity of mediation and the importance of providing students with practical exposure to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Finally, Nishant Nandan shared industry-best practices, emphasizing that future-ready law colleges must ensure students are “corporate-ready” by understanding the integration of law with other disciplines.

The event, convened by Rudrabhishek Chauhan, concluded with a sense of renewed commitment toward excellence in legal education. The institute expresses its humble gratitude to all speakers and participants for making this colloquium a grand success.

Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions, said: “Legal education today stands at a crucial juncture. Institutions must go beyond conventional teaching and focus on ethics, innovation, and global exposure. This colloquium reflects our commitment to shaping responsible and competent legal professionals.”
