Greater Noida News (27/02/2026): The Chamber of Exporters hosted its 2026 Annual Meeting and Gathering at the ExpoInn Suites & Convention, located within India Expo Mart, marking a significant moment for India’s export and trade sector.
The event was led by Chamber President Shubham Kirorimal Agarwal and General Secretary Vikas Sharma. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General and Chief Mentor of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, attended as the Chief Guest and emphasized the growing collaboration between the Chamber and industry stakeholders to strengthen India’s export ecosystem.
Speaking to Ten News Network, President Shubham Agarwal announced a major investment commitment of ₹1,300 crore in Uttar Pradesh. He stated that the primary objective of the annual meeting was to bring export houses together on a unified platform to collectively promote Indian exporters and accelerate industrial growth in the state.
We are extremely enthusiastic about this ₹1,300 crore investment plan in Uttar Pradesh. By working together as a strong and unified body, we can promote exporters more effectively and further strengthen India’s export industry, Shubham Agarwal said.
Addressing concerns raised by industry members, Shubham Agarwal highlighted the need for adaptability in a rapidly changing economic environment. While acknowledging government support, he stressed the importance of private sector initiative, particularly in the development of industrial clusters. Times are changing, and so must our approach. Instead of depending entirely on the government, exporters can take the lead in developing private industrial clusters, supported by existing government schemes. This is a practical and forward-looking model, he added.
General Secretary Vikas Sharma underscored the vital mentorship role played by Dr. Rakesh Kumar over the years. He noted that under his guidance, exporters have gained critical insights into policy advocacy, effective engagement with government authorities, and understanding long-term industry trends.
Vikas Sharma also drew attention to the mounting capital challenges faced by exporters, especially in Noida. He explained that industrial land and construction costs in the region range between ₹50,000 and ₹1 lakh per square meter, leaving manufacturers with limited funds for machinery and working capital. In a ₹20 crore investment, nearly ₹15 crore is spent on land and buildings alone. This severely restricts operational flexibility, he said, urging the government to provide industrial land and infrastructure at more affordable rates for exporters.
Sharing industry feedback, hardware manufacturer Gurvinder Gulati, who recently set up operations in the EPIP area of Noida, spoke positively about the Chamber’s role. He said the organization offers strong networking opportunities and effective support in resolving issues with various government departments. “The Chamber functions like a close-knit family. Our concerns are addressed promptly, and we remain updated on the latest developments in the sector,” Gulati noted.
The 2026 Annual Meeting concluded on a strong note of collaboration and shared vision. With a substantial investment commitment, emphasis on private industrial cluster development, and renewed focus on policy advocacy and industry–government coordination, the Chamber of Exporters aims to play a key role in strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position in India’s export landscape.
