Greater Noida News (13/05/2026): The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, is all set to organise MedSpark 2026, a two-day academic fest scheduled to be held on May 14 and 15. The event aims to create a vibrant platform for medical students, faculty members, and healthcare enthusiasts to engage in academic learning, practical skill development, and collaborative exchange of ideas.
The academic fest is being organised under the leadership of Chief Patron Dr. Brig Rakesh Gupta, Director of GIMS, and Co-Patron Dr. Rambha Pathak, Dean of the institute. Dr. Aprajita Panwar, Officer In-Charge of the Academic Block, is serving as the Overall Programme Coordinator for the event. The GIMS Student Council, along with faculty members, has played a significant role in conceptualising and organising the various academic and interactive activities planned during the fest.
According to the organisers, MedSpark 2026 will witness enthusiastic participation from students representing several reputed medical institutions, including Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Sharda University, and KD Medical College, among others. The participation of students from multiple institutions is expected to encourage healthy academic competition and strengthen inter-college collaboration.
The two-day fest will begin on May 14 with an inaugural ceremony at Sanjeevani Hall located in the GIMS Academic Block. Following the inauguration, participants will attend a guest lecture by distinguished faculty members, focusing on current developments and challenges in the healthcare and medical education sectors.
One of the key highlights of the opening day will be a Forensic Medicine Crime Scene Investigation Workshop, designed to provide students with practical exposure to medico-legal investigation techniques and real-life forensic procedures. In addition, the Departments of Surgery and Orthopaedics will conduct a Suturing Workshop aimed at enhancing essential clinical and surgical skills among undergraduate medical students through hands-on training sessions.
The academic activities will continue on May 15 with a series of intellectually engaging events. These include a Physiology Quiz intended to test and strengthen students’ conceptual understanding of medical sciences, along with a Fandom Quiz designed to promote interactive participation and team engagement in a lighter academic environment.
The second day will also feature an Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG) Workshop, where participants will receive practical demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities related to women’s healthcare and clinical procedures. The fest will conclude with a closing ceremony recognising the efforts, participation, and achievements of students and organisers.
Organisers stated that MedSpark 2026 has been envisioned as a platform to nurture academic curiosity, clinical competence, and collaborative learning among budding healthcare professionals. The event seeks to bridge the gap between classroom-based theoretical knowledge and practical clinical application by exposing students to skill-based workshops and interactive academic sessions.
The organising committee and GIMS Student Council have ensured detailed planning and coordination to provide participants with a seamless, engaging, and academically enriching experience throughout the two-day event.
