Greater Noida News (14/05/2026): The third edition of Bharat Shiksha Expo 2026 commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony at India Expo Centre & Mart, bringing together leading educational institutions, policymakers, academicians, industry experts, EdTech companies, counsellors and thousands of students from across the country. The three-day event aims to create a collaborative platform focused on the future of education, innovation, skill development and career opportunities in India.
Organised by India Exposition Mart Limited with the support of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, the expo seeks to strengthen India’s evolving education ecosystem through meaningful academic dialogue, practical learning exposure and partnerships between institutions and industry stakeholders.

The inaugural session was attended by several eminent dignitaries, including Anil Pratham, Dr. Zaheer Khan, Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura and Sudeep Sarcar.
Addressing the gathering, Anil Pratham underlined the increasing need for career counselling, specialised education and skill-oriented learning for today’s students. He appreciated the expo for integrating counselling and guidance initiatives into its framework, helping students make informed academic and professional decisions. He also stressed the importance of creating awareness about emerging sectors such as forensic science, cyber crime, criminology and laboratory sciences, which are opening new career pathways for young learners.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zaheer Khan highlighted the need for India’s education system to move beyond conventional degree-oriented learning and focus more strongly on skills, practical exposure and innovation. Referring to the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he emphasised the importance of inclusive and equitable education, applied learning methodologies, soft skills and stronger alignment between academics and industry requirements. He added that consistent and effective implementation of NEP 2020 would play a vital role in building a globally competitive and future-ready education system.
Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura spoke extensively about the significance of skill-based education in shaping India’s future workforce. He observed that while academic degrees may open doors, skills ultimately determine career growth and global relevance. Stressing India’s demographic advantage during the Amrit Kaal period, he said the country must focus on developing a workforce equipped with both local and internationally relevant skills to establish India as the Skill Capital of the world. Referring to the vision of former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, he noted that values, clarity of purpose and practical skills are essential pillars of nation-building, particularly at a time when many students face uncertainty regarding career choices and opportunities.
In his message, Dr. Rakesh Kumar emphasised the growing importance of industry-academia collaboration in the modern education landscape. He remarked that education can no longer function in isolation and must remain closely connected with the changing needs of technology, industry and society. He further stated that education today is not limited to obtaining degrees, but is equally about building competence, confidence and character among students.
Sudeep Sarcar, CEO of IEML, described Bharat Shiksha Expo 2026 as a comprehensive platform where education, technology, innovation and career development converge under one roof. He stated that the expo is not only showcasing institutions and educational opportunities but also creating immersive experiences for students through workshops, hackathons, quizzes, counselling sessions, masterclasses and various future-oriented activities aimed at encouraging creativity and experiential learning.
The expo features participation from universities, colleges, EdTech firms, overseas education consultants, career guidance organisations, skill development institutions and educational solution providers from India and abroad. Alongside institutional exhibitions, several engaging activities such as hackathons, creathons, AR/VR demonstrations, robotics workshops, design thinking sessions, quizzes and interactive counselling programmes are being organised to provide students with hands-on exposure and practical insights.
A major highlight of the event includes special sessions such as the Principal Conference under the framework of NEP 2020 and the Vishwa Guru Sammelan, where educators, policymakers and experts are deliberating on topics including digital education, accessibility, future-ready learning models, skill integration and India’s growing role in the global knowledge economy.

With the recent declaration of CBSE examination results, the expo has assumed added significance as it offers students and parents an opportunity to directly interact with educational institutions, counsellors and experts while exploring higher education options, professional courses, entrepreneurship opportunities and global academic pathways.
Bharat Shiksha Expo 2026 will continue till May 16 at India Expo Centre & Mart, serving as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, innovation and future-focused educational transformation.
