The company said its performance during the quarter ended June 30, 2026, was supported by healthy growth in its decorative paints business, sustained momentum in industrial coatings and improved performance across several international markets.

Consolidated PBDIT (Profit Before Depreciation, Interest, Tax and Other Income) increased 33.5% to ₹2,168.8 crore from ₹1,625 crore a year earlier. The PBDIT margin also expanded significantly to 20.6% from 18.2%, representing an improvement of 240 basis points.

The company’s consolidated profit before tax (PBT) climbed 38.9% to ₹2,095.7 crore, against ₹1,508.7 crore in Q1 of the previous financial year. Consolidated net profit after minority interest grew 40% to ₹1,539.3 crore, compared with ₹1,099.8 crore in the year-ago period.

Standalone performance also remains strong

On a standalone basis, Asian Paints recorded net sales of ₹9,156.5 crore, marking a 16.7% increase from ₹7,848.8 crore in Q1 FY26.

Standalone PBDIT rose 32.2% to ₹2,011.7 crore from ₹1,521.1 crore. The PBDIT margin improved to 22% from 19.4%, an expansion of 259 basis points.

Decorative paints business posts healthy growth

The company’s core decorative business in India continued to remain a key growth driver. During Q1 FY27, the segment recorded 9% volume growth, while value growth stood at 16.6%.

Asian Paints attributed the performance to healthy consumer demand, calibrated pricing measures and continued efforts to strengthen its market presence.

The company said it began FY27 on a positive note, building upon the momentum witnessed during the previous quarter. Despite an uncertain operating environment, its innovation-focused approach, stronger consumer engagement and enhanced service offerings helped support business growth.

Industrial coatings maintain double-digit momentum

The industrial coatings business also continued its strong growth trajectory during the quarter, recording more than 16% value growth.

Within the industrial business, APPPG reported a 21.3% increase in net sales to ₹372.9 crore, compared with ₹307.4 crore in the year-ago quarter. Profit before tax stood at ₹25.8 crore, compared with ₹24.8 crore previously.

PPGAP registered 13.5% growth in net sales, reaching ₹651.9 crore against ₹574.5 crore a year earlier. Its profit before tax increased to ₹102.7 crore from ₹97.3 crore.

International business delivers 27.2% growth

Asian Paints’ international operations recorded strong growth during the quarter. Net sales from the international business increased 27.2% in rupee terms to ₹936.5 crore from ₹736.1 crore.

On a constant-currency basis, the segment registered 20.3% growth. Profit before tax surged 94.9% to ₹74.1 crore.

The company said markets including Egypt, the UAE, Oman, Nepal and Bangladesh were among the key contributors to the growth. The Middle East business performed particularly well despite challenges arising from the ongoing regional conflict.

Mixed performance across Home Décor portfolio

The company’s Home Décor businesses delivered a mixed performance during the quarter.

The Bath Fittings business reported a 4.3% decline in net sales to ₹84.9 crore from ₹88.7 crore. Its loss before tax widened to ₹8.8 crore from ₹2.3 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The Kitchen business, however, recorded a 10.1% increase in net sales to ₹108 crore from ₹98.1 crore. Its loss before tax narrowed substantially to ₹0.3 crore from ₹8.8 crore.

Within the other Home Décor businesses, White Teak recorded a 7.4% decline in net sales to ₹18.7 crore, while Weatherseal posted an 11.2% increase to ₹16.9 crore.

Profitability improves amid cost pressures

Asian Paints said its profitability during the quarter benefited from measured price increases, an improved product mix, formulation efficiencies, sourcing benefits and disciplined cost management.

The company, however, noted that raw material prices remained volatile and said it would continue to closely monitor market conditions.

Commenting on the results, Amit Syngle, Managing Director and CEO of Asian Paints Limited, said the company had started FY27 on a positive note and maintained momentum across its businesses.

He highlighted the healthy volume growth in the decorative segment and continued mid-teen growth in industrial coatings. He also pointed to the strong performance of international operations and improving consumer engagement through the company’s Home Décor initiatives.

According to Syngle, the company will continue to focus on technology-led innovation, customer-centric initiatives and operational efficiencies while remaining agile in response to raw-material price volatility.

Asian Paints’ global presence

Asian Paints is one of India’s leading paint and décor companies and ranks among the world’s top eight coatings companies. The company reported a consolidated turnover of ₹35,516 crore in FY26.

Along with its subsidiaries, Asian Paints operates across 14 countries and has 25 paint manufacturing facilities. Its products and services reach consumers in more than 60 countries through brands and businesses including Asian Paints, Apco Coatings, Asian Paints Berger, Asian Paints Causeway, SCIB Paints, Taubmans and Kadisco Asian Paints.

Beyond paints and coatings, the company has expanded its presence in India’s Home Improvement and Décor market, with offerings spanning kitchens, bath fittings, lighting and other décor solutions.

Overall, the Q1 FY27 results indicate a broad-based improvement in Asian Paints’ operating performance, with strong sales growth, significant margin expansion and higher profitability across its core businesses and international operations.
