A fire broke out in a girls hostel building in Janakpuri, 6 Injured, 50 evacuated

New Delhi: A major tragedy averted in Delhi’s Janakpuri area when fire broke out in a women’s hostel in the night. Fire-fighters managed to rescue all the 50 occupants in the nick of time. No casualties reported yet.

Six girls fainted from smoke in hostel, one girl jumps from first floor and got injured in a fire that broke out at Kaveri Girls Hostel in Janakpuri, South Delhi at 3 am on Wednesday morning. Around 50 girls were evacuated from the building. The fire is said to have started from an electric panel in the basement of the girls’ hostel which later spread to the ground floor.

The six girls injured were admitted to a hospital nearby. Three fire tenders were present at the site and the flames were doused within half an hour, by 3.30 am.

The fire is said to have triggered from an electric panel in the basement of the girls’ hostel.
