In marketing literature a lot has been written about how it is important for an organisation to become ‘customer focused’, marketing orientated’, and adopt the ‘marketing concept’.

For an organisation to be truly marketing oriented all its staff has to be so. There is a saying adapted from Buddhist philosophy that states “For a forest to be green each tree has to be green”. This principle also applies to the marketing orientation of the organisation for it comes from within the minds of the people making up the organisation.

But how does the management achieve this change in attitude and bring the right customer focused ‘spirit’ within their organisation?
Answer is “Public Relations can certainly make a significant difference”.

Public Relations is all about building relationships to advance, promote, and benefit the reputation of yourself and your organisation. It can lead to strong community and industrial partnerships, and even financial support. The more Public Relations you do, the more better image is obtained.
