New Delhi, (13/6/2019): The Aam Aadmi Party today alleged BJP and Congress for conspiring against them in the MCD zone elections. AAP alleges both the parties made alliance to put their representatives on the post of president and vice president.

Today while addressing a press conference in the National capital, AAP convener Gopal Rai, said, “the victory of Congress candidates in the North MCD zone election surprised everyone. In this election, Congress candidate Seema Tahira took over the post of Chairman and Sulakshana as Deputy Chairman. Both the Congress candidates got 9-9 votes. While the Congress had only 6 councilors”.

“Which means that the remaining 3 votes cast in the congress’ victory came from the BJP as a gift. AAP had 8 councilors in this zone. Despite this, the election of AAP Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Standing Committee was defeated because BJP and Congress jointly got the majority figure in the zone”.

“Today’s victory of Congress has shown that it is BJP’s B-Team. But this BJP strategy to weaken AAP in this zone is not going to work in the Assembly elections”.

He further said, “this type of politics is shameful, the Congress and BJP act as the biggest rivals but behind the cameras they are friends and stops everyone who wants to work for the welfare of the society”.

Congress has won the post of president and vice-president in the North Delhi Municipal Corporation zone election with the support of BJP. The BJP members voted for Congress candidates to stop AAP from winning. The result was that despite having most members, AAP could not win.
