Galgotias Ad

Portions of Air Routes W30, W31, W34, W36, W39, W85, W108, W109, W51, W54, W55, W82, W83, W84 and W104 situated in Northern and North Eastern Region of India are not adequately covered by Radar due to topographical constraints and high terrain in the areas. However, the Air Traffic Control System available in the Northern and North-Eastern region are capable of processing all flights data.

The Airports Authority of India has taken steps to install Radars at Amritsar in Northern Region and Imphal in North Eastern Region for enhancing Radar coverage in these air routes.

This information was given by Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
