Mumbai (Maharashtra), 19th Jan 2023: Bharti Airtel, India’s leading telecom company, has announced plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore to set up a hyperscale data centre in Hyderabad.

The data centre, which will be set up in partnership with global data centre provider, Equinix, will be one of the largest in the country and will help Airtel meet the growing demand for data storage and processing services in the region.

The data centre will be spread across an area of 2.5 million square feet and will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including advanced cooling systems, power management, and security features.

The facility will also have the capability to support multi-cloud and edge computing, which will enable customers to access data and applications from multiple cloud providers with low latency.

The data centre is expected to create several job opportunities in the region and will also boost the local economy by attracting more businesses to the area. Airtel has stated that the facility will be built in a phased manner, with the first phase set to be completed within the next 18 months.
