Amrapali Group MD gets bail on medical grounds, buyers launch online campaign boycotting the decision

Greater Noida: Anil Kumar Sharma, the Managing Director of the Amrapali Group of companies got bail from the court on medical grounds, the decision has caused an uproar among the buyers. Anil Kumar Sharma was in jail for past four months in connection with a multi-crore scam under Section 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
The buyers in the project oppose the decision of the court saying, “This man has fooled thousands of people and destroyed their lives. We know he is taking bail by presenting fake medical reports. We are now launching an online campaign demanding rejection of his bail – #RejectBailOfAmrapali #NoBailForAnilSharm.
Amrapali Group had launched 22 different residential projects in Noida, Greater Noida and in Greater Noida West region in which 45 thousand buyers got trapped. In 2017, buyers approached the Supreme Court and the action begun on the builder. Till date, Delhi police has registered a total of 38 FIR in the scam.
