Anurag Thakur, Kiren Rijiju felicitate Tokyo medal winners in Delhi
Ministry of Sports affairs and youth has organised an event at Delhi’s Ashoka Hotel to felicitate Olympic medal winners.
Union Ministers Anurag Thakur, Kiren Rijiju and Nisith Pramanik are present at the event.
"I congratulate our Olympians and medalists on behalf of every Indian, for their outstanding performances at Tokyo2020
Welcome back home! We are so proud of you!," Sports Minister Annurag Thakur said.
Reflecting on key achievements, he added, "Tokyo 2020 was an Olympic Games with many firsts for India. 128-member Indian contingent. 7 Olympic Medals. 1st Olympic gold medal in Athletics. 2 successive medals in consecutive Olympics. Indian men’s hockey team wins medal after 41 years. Entry to semi-finals by Women’s hockey team."
