Greater Noida News (6 August 2026): Reinforcing India’s growing presence in the global organic food market, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is showcasing the country’s diverse portfolio of certified organic products at the 18th edition of BIOFACH INDIA 2026, being held from August 6 to 8 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.

Organised jointly by NuernbergMesse India, the three-day international exhibition has brought together leading stakeholders from the organic, natural, millet and sustainable food industries, creating a significant platform for trade partnerships, policy discussions, innovation and market expansion.

A major attraction at the event is the APEDA Pavilion, where 44 exhibitors from across India are presenting a wide spectrum of certified organic products. The participants include exporters, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), women entrepreneurs, startups and organic enterprises, reflecting the diversity and strength of India’s organic ecosystem.

The pavilion features an extensive range of products such as cereals, pulses, millets, spices, tea, coffee, fresh fruits and vegetables, processed foods, medicinal herbs, edible oils, honey, cocoa products, nutraceuticals, natural ingredients and several value-added organic food items. The display highlights India’s expanding production capabilities and its increasing competitiveness in international organic markets.

To enhance export opportunities, APEDA has facilitated the participation of 35 international buyers, including importers, distributors and retail representatives from key overseas markets. Dedicated Buyer-Seller Meetings and structured business matchmaking sessions are enabling Indian exhibitors to establish direct commercial connections, explore new export avenues and develop long-term global partnerships.

The exhibition also features a series of technical conferences, expert-led discussions and live product demonstrations focusing on emerging trends in organic farming, sustainability, certification systems, traceability, quality assurance and international market access. These sessions are providing valuable insights into evolving global regulations, consumer preferences and export requirements for Indian businesses.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Shri Katikithala Srinivas, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, as the Chief Guest. Among the dignitaries present were Shri Abhishek Dev, Chairman, APEDA; Shri Nitin Yadav, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce; Ms. Sonia Prashar, Chairperson of the Board and Managing Director, NuernbergMesse India; Mr. Georg Enzweiler, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany; and Mr. Marco Schlüter, Vice President, IFOAM – Organics International.

Speaking at the event, APEDA Chairman Shri Abhishek Dev said India possesses the scale, diversity and production capacity to become one of the world’s preferred sourcing destinations for certified organic products. He emphasised that APEDA is focused on strengthening product traceability, ensuring compliance with international quality standards and expanding global market access, while creating greater income opportunities for farmers and Farmer Producer Organizations.

India continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading producers of certified organic products under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). Through initiatives focused on certification, quality assurance, capacity building, export promotion and market development, APEDA has played a key role in increasing the global acceptance of Indian organic products while encouraging sustainable agricultural practices.

APEDA’s participation at BIOFACH INDIA 2026 underlines its continued efforts to boost India’s organic exports by connecting domestic producers with international buyers, promoting high-quality certified products and building a stronger ecosystem for sustainable growth in the country’s organic sector. The event is expected to further enhance India’s visibility as a reliable global supplier of certified organic food products.
