Big Cricket League Season 2 Kicks Off in Greater Noida; Free Entry Announced for Cricket Fans

Greater Noida News (02/06/2026): The much-awaited second season of the Big Cricket League (BCL) was officially unveiled on Monday during a grand launch event held at Hotel Expo Inn in Greater Noida. The league, recognized as the world’s first Professional-Amateur (Pro-Am) cricket tournament, is set to return with greater competition, star power, and opportunities for emerging cricketers.
The launch ceremony brought together key figures associated with the league, including BCL Founder and President RP Singh, Co-Founder and CEO Annirudh Chauhan, former New Zealand cricketer and Mumbai Marines captain Ross Taylor, former Afghanistan captain and league ambassador Asghar Afghan, Manan Sharma, and Puneet Singh, Chief Patron of the league. During the event, officials shared their vision for the upcoming season and outlined plans aimed at strengthening the platform for aspiring cricket talent.
The tournament will begin on June 3, 2026, at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, where six franchises will compete for the championship trophy. The participating teams are Northern Challengers, Mumbai Marines, MP Tigers, UP Brij Stars, Southern Spartans, and Gujarat Diamonds.
The opening encounter will see Mumbai Marines take on UP Brij Stars on June 3 at 7:00 PM. Fans can look forward to an action-packed schedule throughout the group stage, with two matches being played each day at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The competition will culminate with the semi-finals on June 12, followed by the final on June 13.
In a significant move to encourage public participation, league organizers announced that spectators will be able to attend all matches free of cost. Cricket enthusiasts can gain entry through Gate No. 1 of the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, allowing families, students, and sports lovers to experience the tournament firsthand.
Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Singh, Chief Patron of the Big Cricket League, said the success of the inaugural season demonstrated that cricketing talent exists well beyond conventional pathways. He noted that the league was established to provide aspiring players with a chance to compete alongside accomplished cricketers and added that Season 2 would further expand that vision by offering a bigger platform and wider opportunities.
BCL Founder and President RP Singh described the league as more than just a cricket tournament. He emphasized that the competition serves as a bridge between amateur and professional cricket, enabling promising players to showcase their skills at a higher level. According to Singh, the overwhelming response from players and fans has reinforced the league’s mission of nurturing grassroots talent and creating pathways for future stars.

League ambassador Asghar Afghan highlighted the uniqueness of the Pro-Am format, stating that it provides young cricketers with valuable exposure by allowing them to learn directly from experienced international players while competing in a professional environment. He expressed confidence that the season would produce several standout performances and inspiring stories.
Meanwhile, Co-Founder and CEO Annirudh Chauhan stressed the importance of making cricket more accessible to the public. He said the decision to offer free entry reflects the league’s commitment to connecting fans with the game and creating an inclusive sporting atmosphere where people from all backgrounds can enjoy quality cricket.
Season 2 will once again feature a blend of renowned former international cricketers and talented amateur players, creating a unique platform that combines mentorship, competition, and talent development. Organizers believe the format continues to play a crucial role in identifying and promoting promising cricketers who may otherwise struggle to access professional opportunities.
