The advent of the digital era has radically revolutionized the organizational growth and business operations worldwide through application of AI, VR, AR & Machine Learning. Its ever- increasing pace has accelerated the need for companies to become agile, dynamic and more responsive to the needs of their central stakeholders, the customers and create an indispensable source of competitive advantage for marketers- Customer experience.

Birla Institute of Management Technology, Greater Noida, in its constant pursuit of promoting and creating an environment for quality research of global relevance, is set to host the 8th edition of AIM-AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium and Conference 2020 from Jan 3rd -6th 2018, at the institute`s main campus. The aim of the consortium is to provide a platform to share and to stimulate new thoughts, approaches and quantitative/qualitative investigations in the field with a view to advance the extant knowledge in the field of Customer Experience Management in the current dynamic digital age. The theme for the event “Innovating Customer Experiences in Digital Age” seemed quite topical and relevant in the light of recent evolution of the digital era and its spread across all domains and dimensions.
This research consortium is highly developmental and enables leading stalwarts from across the globe, to present, discuss, and debate topics and methods key to the study of management issues from a critical perspective. The IDC has become an increasingly popular event because of its intimate size, the intellectual generosity of the academic community, the interactions between participants, and the truly international experience of the event — with delegates from at least five continents and ten or more countries.

The four- days` event witnessed the Inaugural and Theme Plenary Session I by Jagdish Sheth, V. Kumar, Russ Klein, Dr. H. Chaturvedi, A.V. Shukla and Prof. Pankaj Priya on 3rd Jan, 2020 with the ceremonial lamp lighting followed by welcome address by the Director, Dr. H. Chaturvedi who extended a hearty welcome to the delegates from various parts of the world and reiterated the vision of BIMTECH, which promotes collaborative research across continents. He emphasized on the frequent need of redesigning the customer experience through various creative elements, in order to sustain and drive any business activity.
Dr. Jagdish Sheth via video conferencing, said, “Innovation has to be incorporated at each step in the digital era which should also leave a positive and promising impact for driving future courses of action”. Also, Prof. A. Parasuraman talked about the societal impact that businesses should have in terms of being eco-friendly as well as engaging in CSR activities for the benefit of the masses.

Day 1 also saw some really informative and highly knowledgeable on-site workshops by the delegates like- Reflections on Doing Programmatic Research and Publication Strategies for Making Impactful Contributions by A. Parasuraman, Qualitative Research Methods by Russell Belk, Publishing in top-tier Marketing Journals by Werner Reinartz, Aiming for both Rigour and Relevance by Rajeev Batra, Consumer Behaviour – Satya Bhushan Dash and Sonjaya Gaur and Strategy – Shaphali Gupta, Kelly Hewett and Bulent Menguc.
The workshops concluded with Conscious Capitalism by Ernest R. Cadotte, assisted by Bindu Agarwal followed by the Networking dinner.

The four -day consortium shall witness more than 50 national and international delegates presenting their work in progress, research proposals and dissertations on various marketing management aspects and how each contributes and incorporates the digital elements of today through various on-site workshops and knowledge-rich deliverables
