New Delhi, (2/7/2019): The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today filed a case of corruption against ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
This may be noted that according to RTI response which was filed by Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana, the Delhi Government with expenditure of Rs 2,892 crore has undertaken construction of 12,782 classrooms which could have been done with a maximum spending of around Rs 800 crore.
Speaking to media after filing an FIR in Parliament Street Police Station, Harish Khurana said, “that this is a clear cut case of corruption. AAP has to give answer to this. The Delhi Government is constructing classrooms of 300 square feet size with the cost of Rs 24.86 lakh, while the actual cost of making one classroom is only Rs 2 to 3 lakhs.”
Yesterday, addressing a conference, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, claimed that there is a scam of Rs 2,000 crore in the construction of classrooms for Delhi Government schools, an allegation rejected by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who dared Tiwari to arrest him if such irregularities exists.
“Deputy Chief Minister and Education minister Manish Sisodia talks about construction of new school rooms. There is a scam of Rs 2,000 crore in it,” Tiwari. He said the Delhi government was misusing taxpayers money and asked Sisodia to step down. He also said that his party will complain to Delhi Lokayukta regarding the scam.
BJP leader also questioned Chief Minister on the budget allocation asking if the annual rise in education budget is meant for the loot.
Demanding immediate investigation into this case of corruption by ACB in the construction of classrooms, Tiwari said . “Kejriwal came to power by promising pollution free Delhi, free Wi-Fi, Marshal in Buses, Bijli Half-Paani Maaf etc. but instead of fulfilling the promises he is looting the people of Delhi. But in the forthcoming Assembly Elections, the people will dislodge this anarchist Government”, he said
