New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Sheila Dikshit today addressing the Press Conference at party office said that, we welcome the historic announcement made by Congress president Rahul Gandhi for uplifting the living standards of the poorest people in the country through the Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme.
“Congress President Rahul Gandhi has made a historical announcement that under the Minimum Income Gurantee Scheme Nyuantam Aay Yojna (NYAY) for 5 crore poorest families of India, i.e 25 crore people, Rs 72,000 per annum would be deposited directly in the bank account of the woman of the family. This scheme will apply both to the Urban and Rural Poor families,” she said.
She further said, “This is the biggest scheme for the poor by the Congress party after the highly successful MANREGA. It is strange that the BJP Government, which coined hollow slogans such as “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, “Achhe Din Aayenge”, is now opposing and seems to be rattled by the the Congress Party’s Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme for uplifting the economic condition and living standards of the poorest people in the country.”
“It has been proved beyond any doubt that the BJP Government, for the benefit of a few chosen rich people, has been robbing the rights of the poor people, and even now the BJP and its leaders do not want to see an improvement in the economic condition of the poorest people in the country and uplifting their living standards,” added Dikshit.
