Kolkata, 07th June 2023: BJP led central government questioned the intentions of TMC leader and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s intentions to visit the Odisha train accident site.

The party insisted that the leader only went there to allegedly gain political dividend and also pointed out that numerous rail accidents happened during Ms Banerjee’s tenure as the railway minister.

The TMC responded with vehemently denying all such allegations and asserted that the statements were an attempt by the ruling party to ‘malign’ the image of its chairperson and divert the attention from the ‘Centre’s all-round failure.’

‘We all know that over 800 derailments had taken place and 1,400 people died when she was the railway minister. What prevented her from adopting the anti-collision device,’ questioned BJP National Vice President, Dilip Ghosh.

This comes as the West Bengal leader visited injured passengers of the ill-fated Coromandel Express in multiple hospitals across Cuttack and assured them of all possible help.
