New Delhi, 05 December, 2014
: Top leadership of BJP is expected to address the seventeenth Maharally to be organized by All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations on Monday, 8th December 2014 at Ram Lila Maidan of Delhi to express their views on matters concerning scheduled castes and scheduled tribes who are expected to participate in the Rally from all over the country.  This is the exclusive gathering of representatives of employees and officers of the country and social activists.  The SC/STs are looking forward at the Rally with great expectations that they will get justice.

Dr. Udit Raj clarified that he is organizing this Maha Rally not as a Member of Parliament but as the National President of the Confederation.  Besides BJP and other leaders, a large number of SC/ST people will express their views on the plight of downtrodden people of the country.  There was large scale discontent amongst Dalit Adivasis all over the country against ad hoc and temporary appointments in Government jobs against permanent vacancies which is negating the very concept of reservation.  As per an estimate around 40% employees are working on ad hoc and temporary basis.  It is a matter of great regret that Dalits and Adivasis are not being appointed on regular posts and even after working on ad hoc and temporary basis for years, these employees are not being regularized.  As such, they are denied a number of benefits which otherwise would come to them if their services are regularized.  They are also denied these benefits on the plea that they do not possess the requisite experience.  If they are not given the opportunity to work as regular basis, how will they gain the requisite experience?  The participants in the Rally will demand that vacant posts should be filled and there should be reservation in promotions and the Reservation Law should be made without delay.  The All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations was formed in 1997 under the stewardship of Dr. Udit Raj and has emerged as a formidable platform to raise burning issues of Dalits and scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
