Brave Noida lady’s presence of mind, saves herself and a stranger from armed robbers!
A lot of us would have heard and read about being robbed or coming face to face with armed assailants but in reality when it transpires it never is same. A brave Noida lady named Aparajita who runs Brahmananda Public School in the city has to face such horrific incident on the night of 19th July.
Recalling the ghastly incidence Aparajita says, “I was returning from my gym in sector 124 and was driving towards my home in sector 105 in my car. When I took a U turn towards Judges Colony in sector 105, I spotted 2 guys assaulting a gentleman and trying to rob him of a bag. They were also thrashing him continuously. In trying to scare them I flashed my headlights and long pressed my car horn to alert any passer-by’s and invite help. However irritated with it one robber took out a silver pistol and shot at the left of my car and immediately turned the gun pointing towards me”.
After this the lady recalls how she moved her head down and accelerated rapidly in back gear. Afraid that she might hit something as well as a horror of being shot from the front by the robbers, she somehow managed to reach near the petrol pump by blind driving her car in the back gear.
She was also honking continuously but such was the fearlessness of the robbers that they kept following the lady till the petrol pump. However they stopped few distance away from the pump. Hearing the horn of the vehicle some people came out of petrol pump and adjoining tea stall. The assailants left witnessing it.
Aparajita claims that soon after the incident she dialled 100 number for multiple times but the call never went through. After some time and many attempts to reach police, she went on a self-look out for a PCR van, which she recalls was spotted after much attempt. She accompanied them to the spot where the incident had taken place but the person being robbed had left by then. She however got her complained registered with the police.
After such a horrifying incident of coming face to face with some goons who seemed to have no fear of law, Aparajita is fighting hard to tackle the shock of that night.
She says, “It isn’t actually about what i witnessed but I am shocked about how can that be so fearless in this city. What gives them confidence to keep following someone with a gun even after the other person is raising an alarm and honking continuously. What makes them sure that no one will come? This mentality is first thing that must be changed”.
