Buyers at IHGF Delhi Fair showing keen interest in product innovations and new product ideas, says EPCH Chairman

NEW DELHI (NCR) –2nd April 2022: True to its reputation of being the ‘World’s largest congregation of Handicraft Exporters’ the 53rd edition of IHGF Delhi Fair 2022 being held from 30th March to 3rd April 2022 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway, is gathering the world under a single roof. The sought after connect to India’s leading manufacturers for home, lifestyle, fashion & textile segments, this trade appointment in India has been a sustained, proven and continued resource for importers, wholesalers, retail chains and design professionals since two and a half decades. Comprehensive selections presented by leading export houses have inspired buyers to replenish their merchandise.

Mr R K Verma, Executive Director, EPCH shared “This fair largely brings in buyers who do over 30% buying from India. Many source 50% to 70%, and some even more of their total imports, from vendors they got associated with at IHGF Delhi Fair. So, along with the new, this fair has regular all time patrons in buyers as well as exhibitors. Our buyers are always happy to visit and revisit.”

Lindy Meltzer from Australia says, “It’s been really good to get on a plane, leave home, come and see new products! I think it’s been difficult for the suppliers to create many new products but it’s good to be here and still see many options in textiles, wooden products, jewellery, furniture and decoratives.” Oliver Richard from France has been buying from India through the IHGF.  He says, “I have a lot of suppliers here. This edition is good for resuming business after a break. The variety is amazing and we are working on our future collection.” Karen Williams from Netherlands says, “It is hard to find such a fair in our other markets. People here know the prices, the packaging and can give all the information from A to Z, which is impressive.”

Today’s seminars by leading industry professionals and consultants on Handicraft Exports – Post Covid; and on Curating Products to Sell, among others, were well attended. Ramp Shows taking place in daily sequences featured artisanal apparel, jewellery and fashion accessories today.

This edition of IHGF-Delhi Fair, spread across 15 halls and 900 Permanent Showrooms at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway, brings together more than 2500 exhibitors for home, lifestyle, fashion, textiles and furniture divided into 14 product categories. The 15th edition of IFJAS is co-located and held concurrently. This is the Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Show, also organized by EPCH.

Handicrafts exports during the year 2020-21 was Rs. 25679.98 (US $ 3459.75 Million) and the estimated exports during April-February 2021-22 is Rs. 29626.96 Crores (US $ 3981.72 Million) during eleven months of 2021-22 informed by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General, EPCH.
