Clashes break out between students at Sharda University, Campus closed till Sunday

For the second time this week, violence flared up in Sharda University campus when fighting broke out between two groups of students. Some of the students are reportedly injured, while according to sources, certain college personnel have also suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.
Late at night, police lodged a self-registered FIR under different sections against 300 to 350 unidentified people who were involved in creating the ruckus, since no one came from on behalf of the students or University administration to file a complaint regarding the incident. The accused will be identified on the basis of CCTV footage.
The Police has been deployed in the university campus while SDM and Circle Officers were monitoring the situation. University administration had suspended classes till Sunday and the ongoing exams have also been postponed. Bouncers were deployed at the University gate to restrict the entry of any outsiders and media.
Earlier this month, a video went viral in which some Afghans can be seen assaulting an Indian student and threatening him. Later, three Afghan students were suspended regarding their alleged involvement in the assault against the Indian student. Some of the students were demanding a prolonged suspension. In the latest incident, Ehtesham had received injuries in his head and elbow, and is undergoing treatment for his injuries in Sharda Hospital within the premises.
The University administration is once gain trying to dissolve the matter. A three matter committee comprising the Chief Proctor, Dean(School of Languages) and Director (administration) has been constituted to investigate the matter further.
