New Delhi(22/01/2020): The BJP today accused the Congress party of playing politics of religion and said that the Congress should instead be referred to as Muslim League Congress!
Addressing a conference at BJP HQ today, Party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra demanded Congress president Sonia Gandhi, an apology and said that party leader Ashok Chavan’s statement was ‘appeasement’, when he said that it formed an alliance with Shiv Sena on the insistence of Muslims.
Slamming the AIMIM, Patra said that its leader Akbaruddin Owaisi was trying to project himself as ‘neo Jinnah’.
“Two days ago, Ashok Chavan said – ‘We formed the government in Maharashtra with Shiv Sena on the appeal of our Muslim brothers. Muslims were saying that BJP is their prime enemy. Thus, we should make the government with Shiv Sena to keep them out of power. This is an appeasing statement from the former CM,” Patra said.
The Party’s National Spokesperson also said, “Does this mean the Congress forms Govt asking the Muslims and Muslims only? Do they not care about the Hindus or the other communities? The Congress party should be renamed from Indian National Congress to MLC – Muslim League Congress. They only talk about Muslims and try to polarize them.”
