New Delhi, (27/4/2019): The Congress Party is desperately trying to wake the Election Commission to take action against the violation of Model Code of Conduct by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP Chief Amit Shah, from past many days.
Today, Congress’s Abhishek Manu Singhvi organized a press conference in reference to the complaints made by the Congress to EC and which eventually got ignored by the Election Commission.
While addressing the conference Singhvi said, “we want to ask that ‘is the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been changed to Modi Code of Conduct?!”.
“Did the ‘C’ in Election Commission (EC) is now changed and made ‘Election Omission’ ?
He further said, “we understands that the Modi-Shah duo is afraid and asking for votes by politicizing the outstanding work of our armed forces for the sake of the nation. But the question arises on the working of the Election Commission, why the EC is not taking an action despite the complaints made by us. It clearly shows that there is a pressure on the EC”.
“The Modi-Shah duo is misusing their power by resisting the Election Commission. Prime Minister Modi after casting his vote, took out a long procession and delivered a speech, there has never been such a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct, he is a habitual offender. We appealed to the Election Commission to bar him from campaigning for 48 to 72 hours but still no action is taken”.
Congress along with other regional parties of the nation will reach EC most probably on Monday to seek an answer and an action to the complaints made by the Congress against the Modi-Shah duo.
Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Tuesday said his party has appealed to the Election Commission to bar Prime Minister Narendra Modi from campaigning for 48 to 72 hours for repeatedly violating the Model Code of Conduct.
